Determining someone's exact chronological age is far more intricate than subtracting a birth year from the current year. While simple year subtraction (Current Year − Birth Year) provides a rough estimate, it frequently produces errors of up to a whole year depending on whether the birthday has occurred yet in the target year.
Furthermore, dividing total elapsed days by 365 or 365.25 fails because human age is legally and culturally defined by Gregorian calendar recurrence, not by a uniform physical duration. A calendar year can contain 365 or 366 days, and months range in length from 28 to 31 days.
