Unintended whitespace characters - such as trailing spaces, duplicate tab indentations, non-breaking spaces, and empty carriage returns - frequently degrade data pipelines, contaminate database records, and cause formatting glitches in web layouts. Common Whitespace Cleanup Modes

1. Trim Leading & Trailing: Strips whitespace from the beginning and end of each line.
2. Collapse Multiple Spaces: Replaces consecutive ASCII space characters with one standard space.
3. Normalize All Whitespace: Replaces runs of spaces, tabs, and line breaks with one standard space.
4. Remove All Spaces: Removes literal ASCII space characters while preserving line breaks and tabs.
5. Remove Blank Lines: Eliminates empty or whitespace-only lines to compress log files.
